Howdy Folks!
I hope everyone is staying cool through this Texas heatwave. It has been a hot one over at the shelter and we are definitely feeling the burn. But, no matter what, we have been staying as busy as little ever. Within these past two weeks we have taken in over 20 new doggies and kitties! So, needless to say, we are pretty full – which is a good thing in keeping the staff and volunteers on our toes. We have a beautiful momma dog and her eight sweet little puppies that just joined us. Additionally, we also have another soon-to-be momma dog, Jersey, who’s just about pop any day now. Everyone at the facility is super excited to see what our newest additions will look like. We also acquired a young pup: Fawn. Unfortunately, she has been passed around one too many times, and has lost the wag in her tail – but we are optimistic that will change here soon, and she’ll re-learn her former puppy ways!
I really wanted to write about Galloway today! He is a handsome lab/terrier that weighed in at about 75 lbs, and had been at HSAC for over two years before he finally found his forever home last week. We are always happy to see our yard dogs get a chance to experience the home life and we are also a little sad to see him leave the facility, but knowing he will be happy!
I would also like to take this moment to remind everyone of our volunteer appreciation/open house that we are hosting at the House of Hope. So, mark your calendars for August the 5th, there will be food, fun, animals, tours, and a ty-dye party. We hope to see you there, it’s going to be the cats’ meow!
Until then,
-Waylon Jennings.
