We Take “Humane to Heart,” We Are A “No Kill Shelter.”

Due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey the Humane Society and Adoption Center of Aransas County needs your financial support. We are privately financed and many of our faithful donors have suffered severe losses also and are unable to support us as they have in the past. We understand that with multiple hurricanes and fires happening at present that donor fatigue can set in. We assure you that every penny donated will go to rehabilitating our facility and to our “No Kill” commitment to the precious dogs and cats we save.  Hopefully you will be able to help us out in this time of extreme need.Any amount will be welcome and recurring donations will especially help us to plan our recovery. Even a $5 donation, especially if it’s recurring with help tremendously. No dog or cat is insignificant and neither is any donation that goes to save them.

All donations are tax deductible, the donation form will prompt you for the information necessary to generate your deduction form at years end.

We are not closing our doors!!!

Currently we are not accepting animals or adopting animals.  Our staff has been substantially reduced due to cancelled fundraiser and the prospect of severely reduced income.   We are operating with a dedicated volunteer staff.

We were fortunate our animals and the shelter building weathered the storm well.

We are most grateful for Deb Navin, a volunteer, who was responsible for arranging transports to relocate the shelter animals after the storm passed.   The cats went to the “Animal Defense League” in San Antonio.  They have been disbursed to different cities in their system from Seattle to Boston.  The dogs went to “Bull-Luv-Able Paws & Chi Wawas Rescue” in Dallas.  All the pups are in foster homes and doing well.  A big Thank You to the wonderful women who drove from Dallas to pickup the dogs for the rescue.

Aileen Gillespie and her troop of dedicated volunteers are working daily to clean up the grounds, rebuild fences, and get our utilities up and running.

Our goal is to continue offering the community the low-cost spay/neuter program along with the monthly “Wellness On Wheels” (WOW) clinics for low cost vaccinations and meds.

Our front desk will be open from 10 am-2 pm Tuesday thru Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday until further notice.   We will keep you updated on future spay/neuter clinics and wellness clinics.

We are all in this together to save and help the Animals.  We Continue to be of assistance to our community as we always have been.

God Bless us all!!

Sincerely, Kathy Noble
